About this speaker
Jules has over 30 years professional and consulting experience and is a fully qualified actuary. Before returning to Australia in mid-2019, he was a Senior Policy Advisor at the IAIS for 6 years. Prior to that was a Partner at Ernst & Young, and a founder and director of Askit Consulting in Melbourne. He is currently a Principal with PFS Consulting.
Jules managed the IAIS project to update the ICP Core Curriculum and contributed to the development of the IAIS global capital standards. He has also consulted on a wide range of topics including supervisory development, operational risk, model building, all aspects of investment product unit pricing, and policy development and governance in life insurance and superannuation. Jules also has an ongoing interest in the provision of lifelong retirement incomes.
Jules has also been involved with capacity building since 2000 for both the actuarial profession in Australia and for supervisors. He has led the Actuarial Control Cycle and Actuarial Practice subjects at the University of Melbourne, and has designed, developing and delivered international supervisory training in over 25 programs. He also represents Australia on several International Actuarial Association committees.
Jules was elected to the Council of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia in 2019 and is part of the International Congress of Actuaries 2023 organising committee.
